I'm working on a coyote shoulder mount and have some quick questions. I'm using safee-acid for the pickle and the instructions (Van Dyke kit) say to pickle 36 min to 72 max hours. Unfortunately, I have an emergency at work and won't be able to continue with the mount at 72 hours. Will keeping it in the pickle longer be harmful and if it can remain in the solution, for how much longer. If it must come out, how do I "stall" the process before the next steps.
Another question: a very small amount of eye set came with the kit. It doesn't look like enough to set the eyes and make decent eyelids and contour around the eye. I've seen folks use clay for the areas around the eye. What type of clay is best (something available from hobby store?) or would you recommend something else?
Thanks a bunch!

If you are in fact using saftee acid it has been my experience that you can actually leave your specimen in indefinately as long as you keep your ph levels under control . /I use critter clay for eye detail on yotes .
