Just wanted to know if anyone can point me to a good spot to find drift wood and yes I know water, the river, a lake blah blah blah.
I have a few multi fish mounts ta do one has 4 bluegill the other a Walleye and 3 pearch. Both would like a branchy looking drift wood.
I am from Southern Michigan and dont mind going ta look but my full time job of watching my daughter kinda puts a damper on looking but can go when the wife is home on weekends. Just cant spend days trying to find a good spot to start looking. Anyways if anyone has some tips where ta look could ya please fill me in.
Thanks and take care, Andrew

not trying to be a smart a$$ but in the Van Dykes catolog on pages 204 and 205 you'll find the best you can get with out having to de-bug it and even leave your house to get it. My family has 900' of beach front property that I used to get all my driftwood from, now it makes a really good bonfire.

take her with you

She is a tad young to take and feel safe with me looking for the driftwood and keeping an eyes on her I wouldnt get much done LOL.
Also John I dont think what Van Dykes has is large enough for what Im in need of.

Hi, im about due to go hunting for wood, i have several spots that are full of driftwood that got beached after heavy rains this spring, come for a couple hours, and youll leave with some good stuff, also, i have a friend who farms, he had a 10 acre tract of old, old cedar, some 30 ft, this 10 has never been collected on, and when i was scouting for deer, i found the motherload.
I enjoy meeting other taxidermists, and corresponding.
I believe taxidermists should unite, not be divided.
