Check your length of your legs on the form. Most forms have to be altered in order to fit properly. It sounds like the legs on the form are to long. If you have to stretch the skin to get it over the toes it will make the chest area to tight and the legs will be stretched to long and won't wrap around the form. If you can use the carcass to take measurements of length of the legs between joints and also how big they are around Many of the people sculpting seem to make a pretty beefy leg on most forms. I find it a lot on bear, cats and and some of the other mammels. I usually start with a slightly smaller form. That way the legs will fit easier. It is much quicker and easier to cut the form up and make the body larger than it is to try to shorten the legs by cut the leg rods and shave them down. You will loose to much shape in the legs that way and they look spindely. Remember the forms are a starting point and size and shape of an animal will change in different parts of the country and with age. Always take a lot of carcass measurments before you start if you can. Good luck
You probably will need to reduce the diameter on the legs, depending what form is being used. Be sure and stretch your legs wide. A 1/2" is'nt very much of a gap. Test fit and pin at the edges to make sure everything fits. When sewing with small stiches the gaps tend to pull together. Good Luck.
well i got it to work and the coyote looks great, however i had to do a ton of shaving on the legs, hide paste went a long way too and as dan said the gaps pulled together, i had a few gaps but they are covered by hair so you wont see them. i was worried to begin with. thanks guys
