Hi newbee here...I just got back from the planning and zoning office. I have to have a conditional use permit before I can open my shop...I have no proplem with that.
My question is one of the things I have to do is give a descrption of the plans and an explantion of the exact intended use of the property. My shop and office will be inside our shed.
Do you think they will want more detail? Like what size and stuff like that?
I don't want to sound dumb but, what else can I give to them? Oh and if I want to go to their meeting next month it has to be in by tommorrow! Any help you gals and guys can give I appriciate it.

..They may want a copy of your Property Survey with the location of the shed. They will probably need dimensions. They might be concerned with parking, about how people will be coming through on a regular basis, etc.
i am a planning and zoning commish. and first of all you have the right to have a home biz. most taxidermist do it at there house, so i would just tell them you are doing it out of your shed, and the use of the property is for a taxidermy biz (w/retail sales?) if they ask about things going down the drain tell them no hazards for epa ect.

Kellie, Have all your ducks in a row when you go in. You will, beside many other things, need a description of what you will be doing, use words like [custom, art, habitat and not roadkill, gut and stuff].
If you don't have plans of your house and property; you can get them from the city or draw them up.
Another very important thing is that you show attest two OFF Street [Paved] parking spots.
Now for zack,
When you live in a city, things are not always the same as your little town, they very from city to city.
In this city [Denver, Denver] you may not have a taxidermy biz in your house no matter how you word it.
In your house, you can have a business that goes up to a b2 but taxidermy is a b4.
Zoning is a funny business; in some towns, like zacks, you can have chickens on your front porch in others, like mine, you can't even have a dog pillow
