I've salted a deer cape, after 1 day resalted with new salt.Waited 2 days removed salt.Letting the hide air dry.It got kinda hard and stiff for a day or so and now it's getting moist again. Is this normal, should I resalt or just keep air drying? thanks.

resalting it shouldnt hurt, am confused as to why it would be getting moist again, maybe you should set up some dehumidifyers?

Dillon, Humidity will soak into the skin, but I don't know why you removed the salt after the second salting. Fine to hang or incline to drain but I would not "remove" the salt. When I have skins slow to dry I salt the third or even a fourth time. Once the skin is dry most of the salt will have fallen off and the skin will not be so likely to soften when the humidity gets a little high. Enjoy, Aaron H.
