Beginner needs fish help

Submitted by Wolfe on 8/26/04 at 2:50 PM. ( ) 12.217.9.230

I mounted my first fish yesterday (northern) and something happened over night. It is a sweeping up pose and the head drooped slightly.
Now, instead of a nice arc...the body arcs and the head angles down ever so slightly.

Can I soak the head in water, or wrap a wet towel around it to loosen up the skin some?

If you used a slow set mache, you should just be able to repose the head, prop in place and put in front of a fan for a day or two till the head skin hardens a bit.

allways use t-pins or a pin of some kind to hold your pose while drying. you can always fill in the pin holes with epoxy sculp during your finishing process. Good Luck

For northerns I always drive a couple big gauge wires right through the nostrils into the form to pose the head so it does not droop works everytime
