I was just wondering are we all paying the same for materials, I order all my stuff right out of the catalogues and pay the asking price. Other than buying in bulk is there some way of getting better deals than right out of the catalogue? or are we all in the same boat?
thanks for you help!

Many times, you can find good deals by shopping around. Sometimes suppliers put items on sale at substantial savings. Keep a check of their websites. Just remember to buy what you need or will need. Don't overbuy just because you get a good price.
Now, that being said, another point I'll make is that the suppliers are harging fair prices IMHO. Try carving your own fish mannikin for a LM Bass. 30 minutes time not counting the cost of the foam and the $12-13 you pay for the mannikin seems very fair.
Most conventions have dealers offering supplies for discounted prices and you save on shipping.(minus shipping if they have it with them) Some dealers and tanneries also send discount coupons to conventions which are good on your next purchase. This alone can make up for more than your association fees. Become a member now and take pride in the growth you'll experiance as a wildlife artist. Then the answer is that there are no wholesale prices for us. We all pay the same price for everything. Unless like mentioned earlier that suppliers run specials.

But that's a shipping issue. I live in Hawaii, order from catalogs too, but the shipping kills me.
