Can you insure game heads?

I was going to get renter's insurance and I was wondering if you can insure game heads in case of theft or fire? I have a decent mulie collection and it would be nice to have some sort of payback if they were gone ( I would still be crushed) Do insurance companies do this kind of stuff? Do you have to get them appraised? Who appraises game heads?

Thanks!

The mounts, of course, have sentimental value, but you have to determine "Fair Market Value". Check e-Bay for selling prices or check Cabela's new catalog, which sells mounts --I hear.

talk to your agent, some companies will cover only the replacement cost, in other words a cape ,form, horns from just any deer. I had each of my deer scored and took pictures and gave them to my agent. I have a actual value coverage on my collection. Don't get into a stated value coverage, because if something did happen they (insurance company) have the right to dispute the coverage and you get screwed in the end. Ask all questions to your agent even if you think they are stupid ones, you want to amke sure he has your best intrest in mind. Hope this helps.
