What did I do wrong?

I purchased two WT capes from a guy off Ebay in April. I got to work one the first one right away with no problems.

This afternoon, I took #2 out of the freezer so it would be ready to flesh in the morning. I set the cape on a bench in my basement which is around 65 degrees. After a couple of hours, I was able to start unrolling some of the hide.

It was then that I noticed that it is slipping BIG TIME!

What could I have done wrong?
What could I have done differently?
Did I get a bad cape?

What a day!

wolfe you probably just got hold of a bad cape that wasnt properly took care of in the field you didnt mention how long it took the capes to get to you when he shipped them or if they were frozen or have they already thawed out when you recieved them if they werent frozen that could had something to do with the bacteria setting in and causing the slippage.

When they showed up........

......they were slightly thawed. I put them back in the freezer and worked on #1 about one week later with no problems.

This leads me to believe that #2 was a bad cape.
