If you have an idea of what you want, find a sign company that can draw one up for you, or call a printing company that makes business cards and tell them what you want made. Or they can show you what they have available. If they can put anything on a card, they can surly make a logo for you. I got my logo off of Clip Art in my computer, sent it in a file to an online business card company, and got my cards that way. Hope this helps.

Try to create your own rather than something a print shop has on file. Theres nothing worse then having the same shop name as twenty other guys, or the same logo, the very thing you want to use to distance your shop name from others. I drew my own, and constantly have to protect it from others who innocently copy it. To me, theres nothing less attractive then some generic file picture next to a name you work so hard to develop...

Bill, tell me there's not a picture of you in your logo? LOL,

I had mine professionally designed by an internet-based company in Florida. It wasn't cheap, but the results were worth the money. They will send the final product to you in several different formats that you can then take to your printer, embroiderer, sign company, etc. Do a Google search on "Logo Design".

Be careful with the "professionals" though...

I went to a local, BIG named printing company and you would not believe the garbage they turned out! I basically handed them a rough design and that's what they did! It looked like doo-doo AND there were tons of typos in it (even though MY spelling was correct!)

I went home, took one of my fish pics (an extreme up-close head shot of a nice walleye) and with a blue background I added all the text in white. I chose a real "artsy" font too. It took me all of about a 1/2 hour! I print them on a heavy bond photo paper and trim them myself as needed. They cost a bit more than if I had a printer do it, but I feel that in this business something pretty REALLY gets your point across and it's well worth the added cost. I get quite a few compliments on my cards and they stand out amongst any others (except the blaze orange ones of course!)
