does it hurt to have your mounted things displayed in a non heated building , can get to 90 above or 45 below in winter. does this do anything to the mounts

Bill, That's quite a temperature spread but I can't see it causing real damage in itself. Humidity is far more damaging than the temperature. Dampness will encourage mold and depending on the preservation methods and mounting materials can cause the skin to move and distort over time. Well mounted quality work can handle the temperature but nothing lasts forever and humidity is damaging to all taxidermy. My thoughts, Aaron H.
