is krow tan just for mounted animals or can you use it for wall hanging skins

I too use Krowtan. It's my understanding that you can use Krowtan to tan anything. The hide will dry out, but if you're planning on making a wall hanging skin, then you might want to look into getting some "soft tan." I was advised to tan it in Krowtan, flesh it, dry it (rolled in a towel should do), then apply a ver generous amount of soft tan to the skin side of the cape. This is a LOT of work. You have to take the cape and work it just about every hour...and it takes many hours to dry. So, I suggest taking a saturday to get it done. However, if you have an excellent tumbler, then just place it there after you tan. Hope this helps.
