Two ways.
1. Find all the skull fragments that you can, clean them up and super glue them together. Then fiberglass reinforce it from the brain side and cut it to size. Cheap method, but a real pain.
2. The second method is to turn to page 154 of the new Van Dykes catalog. They sell skull caps with pedicels which the antlers screw on to.
It also was a head shot. I ordered the McKenzie replacement cap and it worked very well. I sawed the antlers off at the burrs, drilled holes in the antlers and the replacement cap. I then used a threaded rod and used quick set Epo-Grip to put the rods into the antlers. At this point I Epo-Gripped the the rod for the skull plate and inserted and held antlers in proper position until my adhesive kicked. I then applied more Epo-Grip around the base of the antler for reinforcement. I did have to cut about a half inch off the front of the anler cap to get my eye to antler burr measurement to fit. Just blended in with critter clay when I was done. There was also slippage around the trauma area on the cape behind the ears that will have to be fixed. LOTS of extra work and I didn't charge quite enough extra to cover my time. In the future it will be 1)replacement cape or 2) $150 extra. Guess they'll learn the hard way. Good luck and just use your head. Shouldn't be a major problem. Peace- Jeff F.
