Hey there, this is the first for me but i,m doing a shoulder mount black bear and now that it is dry i brushed it out and there is still lots off "dandruff" salt over the hair.Iwent with the vaccum and still keeps coming out.I pre washed after the tanner like always.
What can i try next

What type of tan and did you tan it. Are you sure it's salt and no dust from the tumbling from the tannery if you sent it out to be tanned.
If it's from the tannery and you got a dry tan, how did you rehydrate it?
If you got a wet tan then you have cob dust from them and it's needs to be either washed again or get woolite rug cleaner. I use it a lot on my rug mounts to do the final cleaning. It's gental on the hair and doesn't damage a thing.
Now if you know it's salt I would rewash the mount outside using pert shampoo. Do this twice and rinse well. Then take either you air and blow dry it that way or use your hair dryer set on cool and dry the hair that way.
Yes it was sent out and wet tanned, i rewashed it semi dried then sewed him up.Once it dried i started noticeing the salt crystals?
I brushed lightly and with vaccum a bit but still coming up.
