Proper steps to mounting cold water fish?

I'm currently mounting a salmon for the first time and have gotten myself confused with the whole process.
I've had good success on warm water specimens following the techniques taught at school but my first trout ended up 50% scaleless and wrinked using these same steps. I tried using WASCO degreaser and True Tan on my next fish and it's currently drying and looks pretty good.
I've read these forums and countless "how to" articles until I was ready to fall off my chair and have concluded that I don't have a clue.

Can an experienced person please respond with steps to follow from start to finish on cold water fish.
I just don't understand the chemicals that are in the tanning solution and don't know whether or not I should be moth proofing and degreasing a second time with "Grease Buster"?

Thanks for your time

Seriously you need to read the book, esp about cold water fish.

Many of the soft scales could have been saved with denatured alcohol soak before skinning and being gentle.

The wrinkles maybe can be ironed down with a clothes Iron on medium. Just dont burn the skin.

Sometimes yo need to carve the body down, normally when skins wrinkle the body is to BIG.
