Pressure washer for bear

Do you have to remove any of the fat before you start to flesh with pressure washer or do you just go to town on the hide "as is" Iam curious about using one to flesh a bear. Also what nozzle do you use and what psi works best. Do you have to worry about the pressure tearing a hole in the hide? I do not have a concrete drive will the lawn or gravel work? Sorry if the questions sound dumb but I have never used this method before and would like to know all the details before I attempt it. I really don't want to replace a bear hide if i screw it up!

It will work on bears quite well. You need to buy the turbo tip. I just did an elk and a boar hide and it worked well. The pressure will remove the fat as well as the meat. I only have a 2400 psi washer but it works fine. It would probably be faster with a higher pressure. As far as the work surface. I have a 4x4 sheet of plywood. I prop it up 2 cement blocks high and clamp the skin on either side of the top and start spraying. Get the tip down close and at an angle. You will get the feel for it pretty fast. I would reccommend a rainsuit because it is messy.

As for messy OHYEA but nothing works as well..I am in the midst of makeing a catch box/booth for this..After seeing how well it work last year I wont knife another fatty critter..
2400 psi thats a lot cheaper also when it comes to buying the preasure washer..
I know someone who has a 3200 and they only have it cranked 2/3's ..
Email me if ya get the chance todd...Thanks

funny how we never have enough time or room to make and store all our boxs.

The power washer will sling fat all over everything for 10-15 feet.

You can rent a power washer at home-depo to try it before spending $400.-$600.

I hate wearing bear fat,,,,

I use it for all my mammal fleshing needs. Use the turbotip as mentioned. I also use a piece of plywood that is propped up on an angle. Don't spray the hide straight on...you want to spray on an angle. Also, don't stay in one spot too long, you will cut a hole. It is a messy proposition, but well worth it in my opinion. I can do a deer cape in less than 3 minutes. That doesn't count the facial area, which I still do by hand. Give it a try.

I bought mine at Menards. But I would say that Home Depot or Lowes would have them also. Just check in the Pressure washer section.
