Any other place to get supplies other then catalogs

I was wandering if there was any other place to get corn cob grit, excellsior, and jewelers towe that would be cheaper then ordering it from catalogs and minus the high shipping costs too. I know many things can be bought from stores and was wandering if anybody knows where to get any of these items.
Thanks, Brian

Sometimes it makes good sense to buy local for the generic and/or heavy stuff. If you know of someplace that uses excelsior for packing, you might have a source.

Unfortunately, these items are often sold in VERY large quantities, so suppliers are buying bulk, dividing this amount down to affordable quantities, and therefore, are still more affordable in the long run. Maybe you could try combining these items with all your other supplies, and recognize the savings that way? Good luck to you!

By the way, wandering is ...oh, never mind.

Brian , I was one of the guys who replied to your first post a few days ago . It used to be that you could get excellsior inside shipping crates . I dont know if they still do this or jusy use styofoam for packing now . Also , the older couchs and sofas were stuffed with this if you can find one in the garbage but it would be just as cheap to buy it then having to drive around looking for garbage . As I said before , a small amount ( lbs ) of this will go a long way . Good luck Rick
