i want to try krowtan 2000 on my next deer cape and was wondering what the steps are from when the deer gets to me, and is it better and or easyier than lutan-f ... i normaly tan my own capes with good sucess , but im still learning as i go with everything but having fun i do this just as a hobby. one more thing what is your guys and gals opinion on fleshing.. [remember im just a beginner and still dont have all the tools} cant afford a "bench" type flesher and have been using elbow grease but what is better and how do you do it ... wire wheel or flesh all mini flesher, how do set up a electric wheel for that ? thank you for any advice

I think one of the most important tools you can have is a ulu knife, in my personal opinion it's easier and faster than a mini flesher once you learn to use it properly (I've had a Quebec for the last ten years but still use the ulu constantly).

Once you get the hang of them and can keep a sharp edge, fleshing a cape is no problem. One of the big benefits to an ulu is there is no huge mess to clean up like the one a mini flesher throws all over your shop.
