I was just wondering if anybody could help me, how do you measure a cape with the meat on, and how to measure after the meat is off and tanned. I will be attempting my first mount and need all the help I can get. Thanks Jason

well i dont know if you know what they mean by measuring the meat, or if i just misunderstood your question, but by measure the meat they mean, after you skin/cape the deer measure the neck of the animal with the skin off, as for measuring a cape that is tanned, just rehydrate it, grab the cape one hand on each side near the ear and stretch it, dont over do it, just get what you can out of it,measure from under each ear. that will be your neck measurement, then the tip of nose to the corner of the eye, dont stretch that one very much, just so there is no slack.
