Yup - same stuff just different name brands and applicator bottles...

they are both gelled cyanoacrylate adhesives.

ZAP is slower, less viscous

Like Raven said, both are CA's, but the Gap Filling Formula ZAP-A-GAP is a bit less viscous (thinner) than a lot of the tubed gel products. The material is rapid set if used sparsely in tight fitting joints, slower if applied in mass. A kicker or accelerator is available in pump or pressurized spray to speed set applications when desired. The kicker will discolor the CA a bit, and you may not want to use it on white areas.

ZAP, and all CA's for that matter, are strong adhesives, but they are brittle. When gluing tanned hide with them, it is wise to dampen the joint area with water before applying. The moisture will deter the CA from absorbing into the porous hide, and make for a stronger joint. Water will not deter setting.

A little bit goes a long way. ZAP comes in larger quantities, and if you do the math, it is much cheaper than the little tube packages sold at Wally World.

WAY cheaper...

I concur with Cur. A small bottle of Zap a Gap lasts me about as long as 50 of those little Super Glue tubes...

thanks guys
