I hunt moose every year and in are party we get a moose every year, we allways bring the hide to the Ministry to get a hat for the hide, what a wayst! I would like to know how to treet the hide with the fur on, can someone give me some step by step info on this. I'v reaed the posting on tanning, borax and dreied salt and I am realy confused now. Thanks!

If you do own a Shaving Machine - then tanning a Moose skin is not much different than any other skin - except its size and sheer weight makes it very awkward to soften once its tanned and dried. If you own a 6' X 4' Tumbling Drum and also a Cage - its much easier letting them soften it rather than by staking it.
However - if you dont own any of these machines - save yourself a lot of hard work and frustration. Send it to a reputable Tannery!
Thanks Bruce! No I dont have any of dos tools, I gest I did not know it was that mush work, are this tools expencived, this Shaving Machine and Tumbling Drum, is it worth it if I do one moose a year?
