I have a WT cape to do a shoulder mount on and the deer as a sore on the top and bottom of the right eye lids. My question is what is the best way to hide this mark on the eye. I was thinking of cutting a small football shape hole around the mark to fix it. Is their a better way?
Thanks for any help.

It's hard to respond to a question like this unless one sees it in person, but I guess what I would do is go ahead and mount it, when it dries hard, grind off the sore and paint. If it's in the hair, I think you'd be better off still painting it as opposed to cutting on it in that area. If it's your deer, or a customers deer and that's the way you received it,anything to improve the look is a credit to you, even if it's not perfect. If it's a replacement cape, you might want to get another since I think replacement capes are held to a higher standard especially if the customer is paying a premium price for it. Good luck.
