Does anyone give customers a care sheet

Tried the archives and could not find the answer. Does anyone give the customers post care written instructions. I noticed a lot of posts concerning how customers can mistreat mounts and seem to expect it to be taken care of. I also wondered if giving a care sheet may have a disadvantage also for instance the customer could say the mount was damaged and know what to say to make it aound like workmanship. Thanks for your time.

The only taxidermists who hand out care sheets are the ones who care. All you have to list is what the proper steps are for caring for their animal. Make sure not to put any information on what to look for if the problems arrise. Just give them simple instructions how to take care of build up of dust, and nicotine, cleaning antlers, etc. They should never be parting hair, looking for seems, messing with areas that don't have hair. The care sheet should tell them what to do, and what not to do. It can even mention if there are problems beyond what was mentioned, you should be called for professional consultation. Good luck, and you have a great attitude if your thinking about the importance of your customers needs.

I have given my customers a care sheet ever since I opened my business and they really appreciate it. Plus it covers my butt. If they hang it in the garage and bugs eat it up or they hang it in a sunny window and the sun bleaches it out in time, they can't come to me and say it is my fault for not telling them. They have it in writing. With new customers I even go over the care sheet togehter with them to make sure they know how to take care of it once they get it home.

I don't

I usually do explain proper care to the new customers, but I don't hang a tag or booklet on the animal. And I take exception to DW's bullsh1t implying I don't "care". How many of you read the instruction booklet that came with your computer? The car care booklet in your glove box? The warranty on you shop cordless drill or telephone? Those THAT CARE, ask or call me.

I always read everything. Yes to the warranty on the cordless drill, yes to the instuction booklet on the computer, and yes to the car care booklet. But then again I am a woman and we know how to follow directions (or ask for them). Maybe that's the reason why you men are always lost. LMAO

I respect your opinion, but just like taking care of a live animal...its called preventative medicine. You don't wait for your dog to get heart disease from not getting routine dentals done, and then try to take care of the heart disease...you go ahead and get routine dentals done, avoiding the heart disease. I have been in this business for over 25 years, my knowledge of customer service, and business manage runs circles around many...you can't continue return and repeat satisfied customers, without an added little touch of care. Its not Bullcrap, thanks.
