Beginner advice from a "beginner" (ears)

I've done a few deer now and have always struggled with the ears. I was leaving the cartilage in and using hide paste to bond the ears to the Natural Ear ear liners. I saw this method on a video.

Well.......two words.....BAD ADVICE.

I used another method the other day and the ears ROCK! I used Key Ear Epox and removed the cartilage. WOW, what a difference.

I was intimidated with the cartilage removal because I struggled with it while doing a bear. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong....'cause it was easy on this deer.

Do yourself a favor and try this method if you leave the cartilage in.

I'm not "pushing" the Key Ear Epox because I'm sure there are other products that do just as good a job. I am encouraging you to remove the cartilage.

Good Luck

A great creation from Uncle G.(Glen Conley)This too will aid in cartilage removal. And I am pushing it because friends do that for each other. In all seriousness though, Glen is a BRAINIAC like old Cur. His products are well researched and are good contributions to the industry. Do note also that some ears will peel like butter while others are a real pain in the ear butt!(knee slapper) Thanks for your experiance though. Are you a fire fighter?(saw your email addy) If so, THANX. Happy Holidays! Jeff F.

local dive team has many problems with funding. I made a contribution to them this summer. The equipment involved is incredible and the guys are responsible for their own costs. I guess some people don't realize the importance of a dive team until it's thier child being looked for. VERY sad but true. And then theres the boneheads who try to ice fish on a half inch of ice. Anywho, Best Wishes! Jeff F.

Those ice fishermen..................

............are job security. (true but not funny)

I've had luck with grants to help purchase the "extremely" expensive equipment. One grant bought 4 drysuits ($10,000) and another one was used to purchase a communication system so two divers and a surface support person can communicate. This is a nice thing to have when I am crawling in the mud in total darkness.

Take Care,
Scott

The remainder of the costs are up to the individual dive team members.
