When to remove ear cartridge

Have always used bondo for my deer ear mounts,and did not remove the cartridge,when using plastic ear liners,should cartridge be removed.

But it is not a big deal. The only thing that will happen if you do not is the ears will be thick. I have not met a customer or client yet that would even notice. I do remove the cartilage on yhe deer I do.

One thing I believe is that the cartilage with shrink and curl and thus your ears won't retain the nice crisp edge if you leave the cartilage in.
