I was just wanted some advice on how long you should let a WT deer thaw out before you start to skin it off the base of the and skull. Some of my customers cape their own and cut it off at the head/neck junction, so when I get them they are frozen. Thanks in advance for the help>>>>>

I always thaw my deerheads in the fridgerator because the ears,lips,ect.., will thaw faster than the rest of it. my fridge is set at about 38 to 40 degrees, after the 2nd day I check it to see if it is skinable(the whole head does not have to be thawed just the skin and the surface meat)It usually takes 2 to 3 days! hope this helps.
