Skinning a fox for a full body and would like to know how to get the tail stripped.

Take a piece of 2x4 about 6" long, cut it down the middle longways. Put the two pieces back together using a clamp to hold them in place and drill a hole through the middle of the wood in the center of the cut with a spade bit (about a 1/2" to 3/4"). Skin the tail down about 2", then place the skinned portion of the tail in the block of wood through the hole and clamp the pieces together, then pull. The boney section will pull through the wood and it won't mess the tip of your tail up.
Thanks For the reply...
Don't be surprised if half the tail tears off. BUT, you don't have to "make" anything. Take a pair of common pliers and set the "pipe grips" over the tail. Grab the pliers over the head instead of the handle and just pull. Works great and you won't have to remember where you put the 2x4 afterwards.
You could use one of these to. I just grip them with my fingers and strip them off I always have those right on my hand. Yes even efter cutting blue stone for 7 years still got all my didgets LOL. Jack F
as a retired plumber I can swear to you that a copper flareing tool is the best thing that i've ever used...and there are many different hole sizes to choose from....theres one for deer down to ermine.
