I just pulled a Mallard Drake out of the freezer and when I took it out of the vaccum sealed bag, the textured squares from the freezer bag had imprinted on the bill. Since I rebuild my skulls, I was wondering how to smooth this back out. Can I use apoxie sculpt? I've never used it in such a thin layer, not sure how it holds up. Do you think if I soak the bill in water for awhile it will return to its original shape by itself? Any help is greatly appreciated by this new hobbyist.

but so will a thin layer of Mod Podge..
You have to be careful with those vaccume sealers.. they will do that on the bill and the feet and any feathers that get under the textured part.
Don't try and remove the texture part of the bag.. becuase for some reason they don't seal without it.
You can also wrap your birds in a papertowel before sealing them as well...this will stop it from imprinting.
