I may have some time to work on it tomarrow, and I'd like to get it out of my shop. my question is this. can i re-hydrate and use DP, or do I have to tan now that i've salted? any response would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I thank you for your quick response. I am going out to re-hydrate now so I can get it out of the shop this weekend.

Just because you dp it doesn't mean it will be ready to go by this weekend. A lot of times with dp you will have a period of time that the hair is not set, usually about 3 days after it's mounted til 2-3 weeks later. If this customer were to brush his hand across it when he gets it home and it loses some hair, it may be trouble than it's worth.
Tell him if he would quit interupting you, you could get your work done. I know of some taxidermists that charge a fee for excessive inquiries.

tell your customer that quality work cannot be rushed and that he isn't helping the cause at all by constantly coming by and asking about the mount. What you should have done in the beginning is tell the customer an approximate date on when his mount will be finished (i.e. six month in the future or so). This way you could tell him that the mount will be done on time and that YOU will call HIM.

That fee Becky talks about is called an aggrevation fee. LOL. I know of several taxidermists who charge that fee. Seems to work for them.

I'd tell him......
