When do most of you do the finish work on your WT eyes before or after everything dries? Having a problem with eyes pulling alittle while drying.Tried slowing down drying time with bagging and wet cloth..can I apoxie before the skin dries to help minimize the pulling?Just curious.
Thanks,

You really need to get the Breakthrough deerhead book.
YOU cannot finish the head until its dry, 2-3 weeks.
Adjust the eyes daily sometimes twice daily, when using clay.
I really dont think from your post you know enough about mounting a deerhead to use epoxy in place of clay.
You may need to thin the area around the eyes down a lot more.
You can almost see through the skin when its thin enough.
I fill the eye lids with bank pins (burry them as far as I can) then when it's dry I finish with apoxie clay and paint. Works for me. Joe
skin so soft will help with some of the shrinkage to a degree. Not getting the eye skin thin enough is probally most of the problem.
But the sss will also help with the color and keeping the skin close to the eye. hope this helps.
