Bondo ears?

Submitted by John on 1/29/05 at 2:11 PM. ( ) 65.6.241.142

The taxidermist who taught me this method mixed the cream and the liquid and put loose fiberglass mat in the ear. Is it OK to just use the cream only?

Thanks, John

Bondo, fiberglass resin, fiberglass mat and the cream hardener is all you need. If the "liquid" was MEK it's just more catalyst but you can't "see" how well you've got it mixed in like you can with the colored cream hardener.

sorry

Remember to clean and dry the inside of the ear so the resin can penetrate the fibers of the skin so you won't get any drumming. (The mat or fiberglass chop gives strength to the thin edges.)

Clear MEKP or Cream MEKP

The Cream is nothing more than MEKP with a colorant added, to allow the Body shop guys to see the bondo.

The cream hardner come in three colors red, green and blue.

It allows the body shop to see if they have sanded to the bondo and is used in guide coats.

So yes either one the clear liquid MEKP or the Cream MEKP can be used to cat. the bondo.

The cream or paste hardner allows you to see when the bondo is mixed well.

You can add polyester resin to the bondo and the cream hardner is all you need. this helps you to work the bondo and the chopped mat gives the bondp added strength.

you can buy...
