sheffield fleshing knives vs neckers

Are the sheffields that much better than neckers or this simply hype? I don't minding spending the money for quality tools that increase my productivity. The quebec fleshing machine is still a few years away. Thanks.

I liked it. I don't own one yet because I have a fleshing machine. I barrowe one from a friend for the one wild boar I had done last year. If I had more of them to do I would buy one in a heart beat. I like the two in one fleshing knife that Van Dykes sells for 44$. Never used a necker before.

I have used the Sheffield knife on everything from muskrats to moose!
Sure would like to buy a new one (mine is almost 30 years old). I was told from Van Dykes they no longer carry them. Anyone know of a supplier that sells the famous Sheffield Knife?

And for $14 you can own an ulu

Got both, look at one, use the other. The ulu is got to be the greatest knife ever invented for taking the sheath off boars and the fat off bears. MOST TIMES however, my round knife is worth 3 dozen Sheffields so I use it 100 times more often.
