Questions about Air compressor

Mister searchy didnt help on this one. So here goes. I am fixing to purchase a air compressor. Do I need to purchase a oiled compressor or a oilless compressor? I did see in the search something about not running pvc pipe for a oiled compressor. (Something about cyrstalization and boom, fire) So can I run a oilless compressor through pvc and have different air connections throughout my shop? I have narrowed my airbrush choice down to aztex double action. Thanks for any help.

Oil and a seperator

You just have to use a good seperator about $50.00.

Now we all should know the oil will explode when under pressure, but 120psi is not goil to do that!

Why will 120 psi not do that. Read about diesel engines google it.

Something about the air has to be compressed like 16 to one or higher and the oil injected just before top dead center.

Compressors for SCUBA tank commonly fill to 4000 psi all they have is a filter and a oil/air seperator.

I have two tanks in the garage at now at 3200 psi.

Anyway yes pressure PVC pipe is fine, just put a drain in it, just like the tank on the compressor has a drain.

I work on compressors all the time, my advise is to go with the oil filled, they last longer, the dry is just a piston with a seal and they were out very easy, But they are cheaper, must be kept out of the dust.

I also made them at coleman powermate for 6 years, and used them as a macanic for 5 years.

I use a oiled 27 gallon vertical compressure, made by coleman, very reliable, and does well even in doors, and outside allot. I use mine for working on cars in my spere time and perty much anything I could use it for. I personaly like the oiled better, but the nonoiled has its advanteges. like weight, and some even soud quiter, than the oiled ones.

If you use the noneoiled, just remember to keep it clean, blow out after use. just dust can take out the seels, and it dosn't matter witch company makes it. the pvc pipping will be ok, but don't stress it, the pvc likes to break if under to much stress. like pulling hoses and getting cott on things, hope this helps you.
