Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm just getting started. Is Dry Preservative & Dry Tan the same thing. Thanks, and don't be to hard on me.

Buckeye, Not the same. Dry Preservative is simply a green skin with preservative (generaly Borax) rubbed into it. Dry tan is a tanned skin that then is tumbled dry-requires rehydrating to mount. Enjoy, Aaron H.
