Use krowtann to tan your squirrel. Follow the directions on the bottle. Not very expensive, and it can't get any easier then that.

Or

Put the hide in denatured alcohol for at least 72 hrs.
Just make sure the container is covered.
You can dry preserve also when you mount it.
