...I had a Canadian buck come in and I am not sure how it was cared for before it arrived to me (frozen).
I fleshed it, salted two days, pickled/shaved, and liqua-tanned it.
I notice a good bit of hair when I fleshed it thought it was from where I cut the excess cape off.
Then I ended up with a handful of hair floating itn the pickle.
It was not slipping excessively in my opinion it would probably be ok.
So, I rinsed the excess tan off and mounted it using Buckeye Supreme hide paste. Aproximately 3 weeks ago.
The face and neck seem fine but the shoulders especially the left one still will lose hair if you rub your hand over it.("don't rub your hand over it... I know I know.)
The hide and hair was really thick do you thick everything will lock in later or have I screwed the pooch?
Thanks, John

3 weeks seems like enough time for the hair to lock, unless you are in a humind environment. I'd check the back of the mount to see if the hide is still damp. If it's still damp I would spray your trouble spots with stop-slip, and then try and figure out why it's still damp after 3 weeks. If you think the mount is dry, and you don't have bold spots, I would'nt worry about it. I've used stop-slip on some suspect September Anticosti Island deer similar to what you are talking about but freshly mounted. Hope this helps
