whitetail finishing ?

I have just finished my 7th whitetail mount & I think it looks very good on the wall in normal lighting but if I look closely with a flash light it looks painted, is this normal to look painted when closely examining or do I just need to keep practicing?

Thomas try to take a small 1/4inch artist brush and blend the paints together once the deer is painted. brush over it lightly untill you get the desired blend that you need.I think this will work for you. Good luck

Forgot to mention that I use an aztek airbrush with polytranspar water based paints I don't know if this makes any difference?

Thanks!

also Fritz the blending you are talking about is this with oil paints?

Use an old, soft toothbrush w/water colors. After each coat dries, brush it w/toothbrush and blends in colors very nicely. Try it, you'll like it!
