I looked in the search, but didn't find what i was looking for.Can a rattlesnake be dry preserved for mounting?I know most don't like dp,but just curious,if so what are the down sides to mounting this way.thanks for your time and patience,Ronnie

I am really not a big fan of DP,but it's actually a good way to do snakes.Skin the snake, flesh really good,DP and mount.Soaking can cause scales to slip. Many people prefer to do snakes this way.

THANKS JIM

I reccomend NOT using DP...just use Borax. The Dp tends to seep through the skin leaving a white residue on the scales-which is a real bugger to get removed. Just my observations.

The 20 mule team is what i use. Also about losing color, not a whole lot will be lost. But if for some reason there is some you can always hit it with the air brush. I have never had to brush mine though, as i take and seal the snake with a matte finish and it helps to bring out the natural colors a little better. But that is just my way..lol.
