I am gonna start processing my own Deer this Fall... and was wondering was wondering if saving the Hides and or Tails of Whitetails is worth the hassle. I've never sold Hides. What does each bring?
What is the method used in preserving them before freezing them in a plastic bag? Thanks! Roger

I help skin deer for a local butcher here every year. we may skin 300 deer over a three day shotgun season, and any hide not asked for by the customer gets tossed in a barrel. Later, he sells the hides to a fur buyer and gets on average $3.00 each. not worth it unles your processing quantities of deer.
