While fleshing my first deer I was turning the ear when I got to deep in the ear I started seeing hair so I backed up and tried to cut the cartridlge and cut a hole you can see through the ear some how do I fix and the little black ring that is around the eyes I beleive it holds eye lashes do you split or skin hide down to the ring.

Finnish fleshing, salt, pickle and tan (if you are using this method). You can repair the ear with a shaved piece of membrane and superglue gel when you get ready to mount. The eyes don't have to be thinned down to the black ring until final prep. Just don't cut eyelash roots. If tear shows on inside of ear after mounting you can smooth a little apoxie sculpt over it and then paint.
