NEED HELP QUICK....

Submitted by John on 2/25/05 at 4:40 PM. ( ) 65.6.252.16

I rehydrated my cape and put it in the pickle I had mixed not realizing the water would still be a little warm. I pulled it out and squeezed the water out and set it aside can it set for a few hours until the water cools?

Thanks, John

Only makes the hide pickle faster. I always put my hides in the hottest water my arms can handle. It will pickle faster. This is the way I was taught. No bacteria will grow in the pickle no matter how hot the water is.

Want hot water make the hair slip? Im a newbie. But I was told the hot water would make the hair slip. Now Im corn-fussed!

When the temp drop to 110 put the cape in.

if the cape is solid, meaning no bacteria load, no slipping it should not hurt.

that's interesting...

I have never tried it but... I always thought the same as Teddy. Heat and hair never mix, or so I was taught. I use hot water to dissolve the salt and pickling crystals then add cold water, til luke warm. Then when it reaches room temp, insert cape.
