Started my third squirrel today. I pulled it out of the freezer, let it thaw over night. This morning It was still frozen in the middle but I could still skin it. The tail was about half way inverted when the bone broke. The place where it broke is under the skin so I couldn't get the piers to it. Well, the tail is now in two pieces. How can I get the bone out of the second part of the tail and join the two back together to where I can get the wire in and proceed with the mounting process? Any help is much appreciated.

my suggestion is get a whole new tail debone that and sew it on at the base of the body where the old 1/2 a tail is right now you would have to cut the rest off the present tail off at the base... hope it helps.

If you have enough room left, you can try to split the skin a little more till ou can get to the bone so you can grab it. good luck
