How do IP addresses work

Some are and some are not, I have used the same ISP for the past 2 years and I have 4 different ISP address that show up.

AOL isps are pretty generic as far as tracing them with the easy ways.

ISP address are Assigned when you sign on. If you have dsl where you are signed on all the time. the ISP will never change. If you sign on via telephone line. they are asigned when you sign on. they do however generaly follow a patern depending on the lines used. But someone hundreds of miles away. can get the same Isp you had earlier.
