game and fish office they will point you in the right direction. I fyou dont know there # go to wallmart and get a hunting synopsis and look in the front pages for their #s.
Heres a link that may be useful for you. It's an adobe PDF file, and shows what items are tax exempt for you..ie, clay, forms, earliners..etc. It's all listed in the PDF file. Also, I think a South Dakota taxidermy license is $15.00 per year. Here in Wisconsin, you must have a sellers permit, and then get a taxidermy permit once you have proof of a sellers permit. Best thing for you do do is call the DNR office in your area, and find out exactly what you need. Here's the link

Gena , I believe you only need a license if your doing work for other people ( customers ) . If your just doing stuff for yourself , you dont need one , its just a hobby . Rick
