I'd recommend a dorsal cut

Buffalo are big animals and doing the complete dorsal makes working with them SO MUCH BETTER. I can't imagine trying to shave a tubed bufflo skin. Just my opinion, however.

For what it's worth, I do about 50 Buffalo a year, and I dont think I would try to case this thing. Thinning alone can be a real test of patience, strength, and blade sharpness. Pickling helps, but only to a certain degree. These things are as ornery dead as they are alive. Take your time, most of the stuff you do for a normal skin(which a Buffalo is anything BUT normal)you should double or triple to do a buff.
