Fish Training Workshops?

Submitted by Kydeacon on 3/21/05 at 5:35 PM. ( sttaylorus@yahoo.com ) 66.20.103.205

I've been a frequent visitor to this forum for over a year now and have to say I'm impressed with the amount of information available here. I've decided to get started I'm going to try to go the workshop route rather than a school. My goal this year is to do a Gamehead course and a Fish course. I've already decided on the Gamehead course I want to attend but I'm having trouble with finding a Fish course. I've used the ORANGE Button and looked over all the training information I can find but still haven't found anything. Does anybody have any tips or ideas to help in my search. I'm willing to travel as far as needed from Ky. as long as the training is of the highest quality. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Cecil Baird is a Master fish taxidermist located in Ligonier, Indiana. That is up near the Michigan border. He offers 1 on 1 at his home, and he's not only a great taxidermist, he's a good teacher. I've worked with him twice, and in spite of my 40+ years of doing fish, I STILL learned a lot...eh? You can get to his website via the "taxidermists" link at the top of this page.

In Wisconsin I would pick Mike Orthober, his work is phenomenal.

Gary's results speak for themselves.

I have never seen anyone teach fish taxidermy with the results Gary Bruch produces. He has definately figured out a way to get rid of the learning curve. I have seen some of his student's pieces of taxidermy at our PA show and I was really impressed to say the least.
