I would like to suggest that we add a new button next to the ORANGE one and call it GEORGE. Anytime someone wants a smart a.. reply they can just push the George button. It's obvious he lies and waits in the grass, always willing to make a smart remark.
Just an idea. One other idea might be to eliminate the whole question and answer format and just have a big orange button. Kind of sad that something that's meant to help people has to get ruined by a few.
That seems to be life in America these days.

True a question unasked is a dumb question but an answer is valuable no matter if it is, "use the search button" or a lengthy instruction on how and why. I like many other here appreciate the knowledge we get here. Thanks to Raven,Bruce,George, and anyone else willing to help those who are willing to help themselves by using the ORANGE button. You're the same smartasses who'll whine when I either overtly or covertly tell you what a stupid ass you are. You already knew it, but seem offended that I was able to recognize it and point it out to you. There seems to be no way to tell stupid people who ask stupid questions that there's already a fantastic source of information at your fingertips. If SOMEONE DOESN'T tell you, then you're offended. If they tell you to look it up, you're offended. But what really pisses me is that some OTHER JERK will come on and say, "Why didn't you just answer his question.". Well, listen up Pinhead.
The answer that I gave originally, which is archived, took me nearly 50 years of trial and error to get acceptable results. When I explained it that first time, it took me 10, 20,or 30 minutes to write it out concisely enough so that stupid people like you wouldn't have any reason to make a mistake. i didn't ask you for a single thing in return for giving you my life's lessons, I don't want it, I don't need it, I'm just paying back the industry for what it gave me. Most times YOU don't even have the courtesy to acknowledge the information and seldom if ever do you bother to thank me or anyone else who just saved your dumb ass. That's OK with me as well.
So here's my advice to you ONE LAST TIME. When you see my name on a post, scroll down past it. If you happen to make a mistake and read it, completely disregard anything I might say, and most of all, make sure you do exactly the opposite of what I'd suggest. Then you can email me direct (I do tend to always leave my address once on every post I answer)and tell me just how dumb and stupid I am. How's that for a deal.
Paul, Sandy is a quite gifted taxidermist and she got to this level on her own dedication. I helped, offered tips, and suggestions along with encouragement but she's done quite well because of her own talents. I'd never credit my teaching to what she's now become. People with little or no talent can't be taught, and those with those qualities don't need much to fly by themselves.
I think one of the main reasons George suggest trying the orange search button is to encourage people to do research and read all they can to learn like all of us had to do. I know it's frustrating when your having trouble and looking for an answer to a problem to be directed to use the orange button but stop and think a minute would you really want to base your opinion or solution on any one persons advice or have the option to read many different views and opinions on the subject so you can come to a conclusion of your own.
George might have rubbed you wrong but he has answered many questions and helped alot of people and believe it or not he was helping you when he suggested checking the archives because on most topics in question there is more information there than any one person could provide.
I've visited this site regularly for 4 yrs. and have only posted a few times. This site and George are like encyclopedias at your fingertips. I personally like George's reply's , sarcasm, and philosophy, but I also listen to Neal Bortz and Rush Limbaugh and my wife thinks I'm an A hole, so what do I know. Keep telling it like it is George, and talk Bill Yox into coming back. Most of the whiners won't admit or recognize it, but George is very rarely wrong, and I don't always agree with him, but I don't think that keeps him awake at night. George gave you good advise, just don't read his post (bet you can't resist!)
I've used the orange button a lot and the information is all there. It can take a long time to find the answer sometimes because you have to read through the last hundred times a question was asked and answered use the orange button. But eventually it is there. I hope eventually people quit taking it personal when they get a unwelcome remark.
In the last week some of the best have signed off, hopefully not for good. If the trend continues there will not be anyone here to answer when it hasn't been covered.
Sometimes even in the sarcastic reply the answer is there. The clashes that take place can be interesting also.

I pretty much sit back and observe on this forum, but I also read almost every post, and occasionally give a bit of advice, (usually to people who know even less than me) and as of late, I've seen some selfish behavior by people not willing to accept the responses given to them free of charge. I love the opportunity given to me personally, by ALL the veterans giving FREE advise. I try to acknowledge people giving me advise by saying thankyou. I use the orange button first, and after a thorough search, I'll ask my dumb question. So let me say personally, thankyou to all that help and all that respond so freely. I can say that I don't always agree with everything mentioned on this forum, but who am I to argue with free advise. Pete Graf
You've explained this a million times, it's just not worth your breath anymore. You got the same few jerks that are just out to get your goat. And maybe if these jerks don't know how popular and regarded you are, maybe they should do a 'SEARCH' on your birthday post or get well post from a few weeks ago maybe that would calm them down. In any case folks, we all use the search button, even the old pros, no different then looking up a word in the dictionary. Just try it for once before you post, you might like it, I'll guarantee it!
Maybe if there were an orange button to leave your credit card number to get answers and valued advice from seasoned taxidermists it would persuade them otherwise. Todd
I've found that if I use the orange helper, I can usually get my answer right away, plus a lot of other good info along the way.
George is actually a very patient person, as long as your at least TRYING on you own. His advice is clear, concise,and given freely.
Pay attention,advice this good, and with the experience to back it up,rarely comes without a price tag.
Ask any lawyer. They can get huge dollars, and be the biggest dumbass to ever walk into a courtroom.
And then you get the bill!

Why not, at the top of the beginners category, have a short paragraph
explaining what the orange button is for? I think George is right, I am a beginner, and I see the same posts all the time.
Get all the experts to take the beginners by the hand and lead them through every step of life. Look, I do not care for George. Well, let me rephrase, George's attitude at times. But his information about Taxidermy is right on. Never have I asked a question here. But I have learned nearly everything I know about Taxidermy from this site. Because I have read almost everything there is to read here. My foster father and mother are Taxidermists. Never have they given me one lesson. when I showed interest in Taxidermy they sent me to this site. With the instructions "learn all you possibly can, and come see us." I watch them in the shop, and do as I was told, Engage my common sense, keep my eyes open, and my mouth closed. and you might learn something. And I have. With little expense to others. 3 of the first 5 things I mounted, placed in the first show I attended. So if you do not like the response you get. Then read what is already here. show some of your own initiative, and work on it yourself before you look for the quick fix. Grow a brain, and follow logical procedure before you look for help. and when you do look for it. Take what you get. no matter how it is handed out.
This site and that orange button has taught me more than I could ever imagine. There has been times though when after hours of research I simply can't find what I'm your looking for. And if I get a smart a## answer, than all I can say is that's better than no answer at all.

I'm like you and a lot of others, I don't like the "Georges" of the forums attitude or comments at times but if you can bear the bull Sh-- that comes with it at times they can be very helpfull. No ! I do not agrees with it, and think we could all show a little respect ! I made that mistake several days ago by making a TASTLESS comment " THE BIG MOUTH KNOW IT ALLS " and WHOW did I get blasted. Thats OK ! I deserved it and learned a very valuabe leason. There are no free rides ! Make a tastless remark -$$$$- ask a dumb(if any) question $$$$ give a smart A-- answer $$$$ , insult someone $$$$, FAIL to go ORANGE first $$$$$$$$- ASK FOR ADVISE - $$$$$$$$ etc> etc>. The lions await ! It would be nice to keep the forum as it should be " educational " but it's not a perfect world. So I guess we need to ask ourself, is the wealth of info worth the additional $#@%^$@ or intertainment that comes with it ?
