...what whould happen if someone with a good amount of Dermitsed (spelling?) Beatles let them go outside of there shop? Would they survive or die off right away.
They facinate me but I'm still not sure if I want to get in to keeping a Colony.

i have a buffalo hide that was shot in s. dakota in january, from a yearling bull, it has been salted and dried, has a few cuts in it from the locker plant ,very pretty hide, asking 400.00 plus shipping approx. 8 feet by 7 feet.

Joe , where do you think these beetles originally came from - outside in the wild . Of course they would survive . Now instead of letting them go , how about giving them to someone on here or selling them ? Rick
Place a fresh skull outside where the animals can't get to it and watch it for a few days, and there should be beetle on it. They occure in nature. Whoever, if you were to let yours go, thats more chance of getting them in your shop !

Now if you would go up and reread the last statement I made you would understand that I'm debating on buy some beatles, but I still don't think I want to deal with all of that. This was simply a "Hypothetical" question (did you see that in the post title?)
Here's some quick education: Hypothesis ~ Something taken to be true for the purpose of argument or investigation.
With that being said please realize that I am not careless enough or ignorant enough to dispose of these beatles inproperly (if I actually possesed some).
This was purely a conversational topic. Thanks Marc A and Birdmann, I know these somehow appear on carcuses naturally but I was curious if they can survie for any amount of time with out a food source and if so can they harm living animals.
I'll just do some reading on it. Cause we would want to have a friendly conversation in this Forum, we have to first pick apart the persons spelling/grammer abilities, then tell them how they are so wrong and belittle them a little, then after a little bit of sidetracking maybe throw one post in that answers the original question. It's too bad this forum isn't the way it used to me.
I can think of at least four people that I contact through e-mail that have priceless amount of knowledge and they won't post anymore on this site bacause of stuff like this. Maybe someday soon all of us Rookies can teach between each other, that will make alot of progress right? If you don't learn history you will reapeat it!
