Not sure if this has been done before, but I think it would be nice for beginners and others to post opinions on some videos so people don't go and waste $20.
I'll start with what I own:
1. McKenzie "Whitetail Mounting Basics". Great video, this is a must have!
2. Joe Meder (sold through McKenzie) "Commercial whitetail techniques". This is also a great video, better to watch after you have some mounting experience though.
3. WASCO "Elk mount with Calvin Farner". Complete crap! Quality was terrible, and I question some of his techniques. Don't waste your money. The video makes you sea-sick because it shakes so bad.
4. Van Dykes- "Mule deer mounting" with Pete Gierke. OK video, Pete probably is capable of good taxidermy, but he cranks the mount out in a hurry not paying much attention to proper anatomy etc. But he does show how to do a very basic commerical mount. Poor quality but i did learn a few things.
5. Van Dykes- "Coyote rug mounting". Pete Gierke again, this one is a little better and it turns out ok. Worth watching.
6. Research - "Elk Mounting with Scott Brewer". This is a great video! Again, some experience helps before watching this video but I learned a few tricks and it is professionally done.

1. Tom Sexton large mouth bass video{ good video, little grainy)
2. Wet-n- wild Snake mount video by Tom Voyer( A++) absolutely great video, and funny as hell also
3. Wet-n-wild Gator mount video by Tom Voyer( A+++) gret up close shots, good details, also hillarious to watch
These are totally unbiased opinions
Unbiased my butt! Your IP address gives you away, I got suspicous with the A++ followed by the A+++.. I heard they're good though....
Tom, if it has more humor than actual mounting techniques, I'll buy it. Who are you marketing it through?
I owned most of the deer mounting video's at one point. Some are OK and others are very, very bad. I'm not naming names. I started out on my own by reading on this forum and using video's. I think I turned the corner by joining my State Association and doing a one on one seminar with Jim Hicks.
Well I have a didgital video camera and a DVD burner. I made my own which is listed on ebay. I am getting very positive feed back on the quality of the video. Because it is DVD you can pause it frame by frame and the close up's are crystal clear. I've not seen a video this clear that is listed with the major suppliers. I'm sure there is some out there but I haven't found one yet.

check your spelling on your description. Waisted hundreds of dollars, should be wasted. Good luck on your venture.
I think Rick Carter's boar video is very clear and concise; hard to beat...
Thanks Bill. I changed it:)
I have 2 pheasant videos that came with Van Dykes Master Series Pheasant Kit.
1. Van Dykes - Mounting a standing pheasant - Shows good detail of wing and leg placement. Overall OK video but a little staticky and old.
2. Mounting a Flying Pheasant with Danny Owens- Excellent Video. 2 part video one shows skinning and fleshing and the other shows mounting.
