Can any one tell me if a white tail mannikin will work for a black tail? Having a hard time finding one I like and wondered if it would do. White tail look bigger in the neck (?) or is that my imagination? Any suggestion for a shoulder mount with this doe?

You would be better off with a mulie, but there are plenty of blacktail mannikins on the market. Check out Research Mannikins.
Try Research's new line from mike frazier; unless you want a big neck, then I like the look of bill lancasters forms - also from research.
White tails will have a much narrower head than similar muzzle length blacktails, and mule deer will have a longer face usually for the neck size than blacktails with the same neck size.
If there is a particular whitetail pose that you like and can't find for your blacktail try ordering the whitetail form by neck size to fit the blacktail cape and then get a blacktail change out head to graft onto the form.
I used to do that a lot, but the last couple of years research has expanded their blacktail and mulie form poses a lot, can usually find what I want now with having to do change outs.
Thanks for the advise. I found one I think will work for what I want to do.
